Domain Name Registration

.

DomainsDomain Name Registration involves registering your company with Internic (the traffic cop of domain names for the internet). A domain name is the name that appears after the www in a web address. For example, Disney Corporation would register for Disney.com. As such, their domain is Disney.com and their URL would be www.disney.com.

We strongly recommend that any company serious about developing a presence on the internet obtain their own unique domain name. Having your own domain name will greatly enhance your internet image and will protect you if you desire to change the company that hosts your web site in the future. Additionally, a domain name forms part of your electronic address and helps to make your company more recognizable. For these reasons, most businesses on the Internet have elected to register their own domain names.

To register domain names for our customers, we first research the availability of the selected names, and then file a request with the Internet authorities for its use. Subject to their approval, a two (2) year InterNIC fee will become applicable.

Click here for the Internic domain search utility. If you wish to check out domain name availability on your own, you may do so by going to Internic's search domain page. Make sure you enter your request in the format domain.com. Note that the "www" is not used for this search. Use your back button on your browser to return to this page.
