Darren’s interest in IT started at a young age. Ever since his parents bought a HP Desktop running on Windows 95, with a 1.2gb hard drive, P1 133mghz processor, 16mb ram, and a dial-up connection to the internet, he has been fascinated with anything tech related. It wasn’t longer after his parent’s purchase of that PC that it was torn to pieces, with the casing gone and every component detached from one another. However this was all part of the process in understanding how things work, and how to put them back together. As time went on Darren discovered an enjoyment in programming. What started out as a hobby working on his personal website in grade school, has turned into the pursuit of a full time career. The best part about programming, Darren states, is when you’ve taken what was originally just an idea or design, and turned it into a functional, interactive piece of software.

Darren grew up in Midwest Minnesota. Moved to St. Cloud in 2005 to study Computer Programming at St. Cloud Technical College. And in 2011 moved to Minneapolis with his girlfriend after joining the team here at First Scribe. Ever since then he has been committed to his work, sampling the local food varieties, and learning how to avoid congested traffic.

When not on the job Darren enjoys pursuing other hobbies such as cooking, video games, planning his next camping trip, watching documentaries on Netflix, and spending time with his girlfriend Ashlee.
