Web Design Philosophy
The web design team at First Scribe believes websites should function as a software interface.
Internet visitors are out in the search engines looking for something. They're looking for you and your services. Your website must be able to interact with the visitor the moment they arrive and then provide information to the visitor. Don't make the visitor search for data... Think through your web design and make it simple for them.
A flat, lifeless website has no business speaking to your valuable customers. If they have to think about the next step, they'll use the back button and find it somewhere else.
Your website must immediately do the following:
- Visually represent your company brand;
- Visually represent your industry;
- Visually appeal to your level of clientele;
- TELL PEOPLE WHERE TO CLICK.
We believe that the software usability model "speaks" to a visitor. Clear calls to action guide a visitor through each point of information, filtering points and clarifying choices along the way.
All of this interaction falls into the realm of Usability. We have an entire section of our web design content dedicated to this subject because it's at the center of all sites.
Be cognizant of optimization
Each website is designed with equality between form and function. The site must be beautiful and function properly but we must also respect the search engines and their limitations.
Search Engine Optimization automatically means that keyword-rich text must be available on every page. It doesn't mean that the website will be ugly. We have built a lot of beautiful websites that perform nicely in Google. It takes a little extra effort but that's what web design means in 2010.
Look at our portfolio
We know you are shopping design vendors or you wouldn't be reading this page. We invite you to take some time to really look at the designs in our portfolio. Each design has a look, feel and call to action that speaks specifically to that compan's audience. We take the time to get that part right.
