Google Android Web Design
The Google Android operating system(OS) brings the Linux OS out into world in a mobile form. Unlike the iPhone iOS, the Android OS is an open platform allowing developers to create applications at will. The open development environment creates additional demands on the web developers due to the multiple variations of web browsers available.
Web browsers such as the preloaded and Skyfire browsers appear to function as a Safari clone but others can introduce unforeseen browsing idiosyncrasies and must be tested.
Flash media and JavaScript support are always an issue with the mobile devices but the Android OS handles both with more finesse than the iPhone's iOS. For instance, the Skyfire browser allows you to switch between Mobile/Android and desktop computer-browser versions of websites. Certain websites (such as Hulu and Netflix) do not allow mobile browsing but this Skyfire switch circumvents the issue.
We test our websites rigorously on multiple desktop browsers as well as mobile browsers on the Android and iPhone operating systems. Each browser type introduces their own special requirements in order to view the website properly. While websites will not look necessarily look the same on a Google Android, iPhone or desktop computer, we can build mobile specific style sheets and separate websites so that each platform sees a fully-functional site for its requirements.
The mobile market is growing immensely the last few years and the First Scribe team believes this is a wave that will continue. We are developing systems for specific Android web designs for certain customers with heavy mobile-browser visitation.
