Database Driven Flash
Macromedia Flash® is capable of much more than average slide shows. The latest versions of Flash including the ability to interface with server-generated Web pages so you can we can create much more.
First Scribe developed a database driven Flash application showing street lane closures within the City of Minneapolis. The application provides an effective user experience with a powerful back-end.
Minneapolis Traffic Example:
Visitors to the web application find a user experience not unlike any other website. Lane closures are shown in various colors and can be clicked on to provide additional information. As far as the visitor is concerned, the functionality is a familiar web page.
Department of Public Works staff update the information within the web application via an easy to use, but powerful administrative tool. Through the administraive tool, the online map is automatically updated to provide the public current information. [Minneapolis Traffic & Lane Closures]

The Flash application:
- Receives lane closure requests.
- Grants lane closure permits (by administration).
- Updates the graphic map automatically based upon closure permits.
